Pinusmugo ‘Jakobsenprefers full sun and well-drained soil.’Jakobsen’ is a slow growing pine. Jakobsen may reach 1.5 ft in height and width in 10 years. Jakobsen has a tight compact and clumpy habit. During winter months Jakobsen maintains the dark green color. ‘Jakobsen’ was found and introduced by Arne Vagn Jakobsen of Denmark. It is thought by many experts that ‘Jakobsen’ might be a hybrid of Pinus nigra and Pinus mugo due to its dark green foliage and pure white winter buds.
