Masdevallia scitula is a charming, mini-miniature orchid species native to the high elevations of Peru, typically found around 3000 meters. Described by Königer in 1981, this cold-growing epiphyte features erect, slender stems (ramicauls) enveloped by tubular sheaths and carries a single leaf. Its compact size and delicate appearance make it ideal for terrariums, windowsills, or small orchid collections .
