Mennonite Garlic is a hardneck, heirloom variety that has big, BOLD flavor. ‘Mennonite’ features a powerful garlicky taste when consumed raw. When cooked or roasted, it adds a delectable earthy and nutty flavor into your dishes, perfect for a wide range of culinary excursions.

Mennonite Garlic is most well-known for its EXTREME cold hardiness. It’s well-suited for harsh winters and has a near cult-following among gardeners in the northern regions of the US. Large bulbs produce between 4-6 jumbo-sized cloves for cooking or enjoying raw. ‘Mennonite’ is an easy variety of garlic to grow that yields big harvests. When stored in a cool, dry space with good ventilation, ‘Mennonite’ will hold strong for 6-8 months.

Hardneck garlic produces scapes in the spring, has large bulbs, and strong flavor. 

Softneck garlic does not produce scapes, is a less pungent flavor, and has a longer shelf life.
