Description

Northern Sea Oats is one of the most adaptable of the North American grasses. Flat panicles of pendulous flowers emerge pale green before fading to golden brown. This grass is exceptional in autumn and early winter when the dried seed heads shimmer in the low sun.

This shade-tolerant East Coast native ornamental grass has few rivals in beauty. However, it may quite literally out rival many other plants in the garden as it can self-seed extremely aggressively. Plant with caution.
